Caerphilly Churches Night Shelter (CCNS)
The Welsh Government has committed to a plan to
move away from a reliance on the voluntary sector for the provision of
accommodation for the homeless, and that includes night shelter. This means
that we can be cautiously optimistic that 2020 was the last year that the night
shelter would run at Mount Pleasant, as Welsh councils now have a duty to
provide more suitable accommodation.
Therefore, although we are on standby for
2021 just in case, we hope that you will join us to pray that our services will
not be needed, and also to pray that all homeless people still currently in
temporary accommodation in Caerphilly due to the Covid-19 pandemic will find
more permanent, stable homes soon.
Caerphilly Night Shelter is NOT a 'drop in' scheme, so if you know of anyone who wants to use this night shelter, please contact us in any of the following ways:-
